CÉCILE MARTIAL

PAINTER AND ENGRAVER (1931-2018)

Born in Paris, daughter of Armand Martial, sculptor, 1^st prize of Rome and niece of Lucien Martial, Navy painter.

She trained at the Beaux-Arts de Paris with Henri Ducos de la Haille (murals), Robert Cami (engraving) and Jean Dupas (decorative arts).

Cécile Martial’s paintings are marked by the places where she lived throughout the world. Thus the periods of her paintings share a unity of space. She worked with oil on canvas. Some studies on wood or cardboard as well as watercolours on paper complete this collection.
